Arbitration

Arbitration

Thirty years ago, arbitration used to be a relatively infrequent method of settling disputes, almost always international, with few specialized professionals. Today, arbitration, whilst remaining still the exception, has become more common practice. Arbitration clauses are frequent, arbitral institutions are diversified and now, in many sectors, specialized. In most regions, Legislators and Magistrates encourage businesses to have recourse to alternative dispute resolution methods, including, conciliation, mediation and arbitration.   Abdulla Al Awadi’s International Arbitration Department comprises professionals with significant experience in arbitration, whose advice is based on merit-driven results. We have particular expertise in specific procedural techniques including interim/partial measures, protection measures, conservatory and emergency measures, and rules of evidence.    The team is regularly involved in advising on the rules and techniques surrounding the enforcement of awards. Enforcement issues must of course be considered when drafting an arbitration clause or at the outset of any arbitration procedure. Clients are often less interested in procedural meanders than in the time and the cost-effectiveness of their arbitration procedure.   Abdulla Al Awadi & Associates is proud to have a modern and international arbitration department, specialized in arbitration in the areas of:
  • International Trade and Distribution,
  • International Finance,
  • Legal tech, Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, Artificial Intelligence,
  • Intellectual and Industrial property,
  • Sports Law and Humanitarian Law.
  • Real estate
